We addressed significant wood rot and structural deterioration around an exterior door threshold in Oak Island. After removing the damaged door frame and peeling flooring, we exposed the subfloor to assess the extent of the moisture damage. Our team reinforced the wooden floor joists and repaired the structural framing to ensure a stable foundation for the patio entryway. We installed new CertainTeed fiberglass batt insulation and used expanding spray foam to seal the area around the reconfigured metal HVAC floor boot. Once the structural repairs were complete, we reinstalled the subfloor and finished the interior with new carpet padding and transition trim. This project restored the integrity of the home's building envelope while improving energy efficiency at the entrance.
