We stand behind the work we perform.
Qualifying work performed by RGR Construction and Roofing is backed by a 5-year workmanship warranty, subject to the terms, conditions, limitations, and exclusions of the applicable contract and warranty documentation.
Our warranty is designed to protect customers from covered problems resulting from RGR’s installation or workmanship during the applicable warranty period. Our responsibility relates to the work we actually performed.
Exclusions and limitations apply. Please refer to your signed agreement and applicable warranty documentation for complete coverage details.
Two Different Types of Protection

Manufacturer Warranty
Limited lifetime manufacturer warranty on applicable roofing materials, subject to manufacturer terms, eligibility, limitations, and exclusions.
Coverage varies by product, complete system, manufacturer, warranty level, property type, installation, registration, and other manufacturer conditions.
Some enhanced programs also provide separate workmanship protection under their own terms.
The work behind the finished roof

RGR maintains project-specific photographic documentation throughout our work so there is a clearer record of conditions, installation details, and completed construction.
Applicable records can include before and tear-off photos; roof deck conditions and decking replacement; discovered repairs; underlayment, flashing, penetrations, and material installation; FORTIFIED-required details where applicable; progress, completed work, and other important construction conditions.

These original RGR field photos retain their existing location annotations. Available records vary by project and construction stage.

RGR is a CertainTeed ShingleMaster PRO credentialed roofing contractor. Qualifying CertainTeed installations may be eligible for enhanced manufacturer warranty protection.
A complete CertainTeed Integrity Roof System™ uses qualifying components together. Meeting the applicable system, installation, and program requirements can open the door to warranty options beyond CertainTeed’s standard protection.
Eligibility is project specific. Choosing CertainTeed shingles alone does not automatically provide an extended warranty.

4-Star Protection
Qualifying homeowners may have the option to upgrade to enhanced manufacturer-backed protection when the roof meets CertainTeed’s applicable contractor, product, system, installation, registration, and property requirements.
The coverage and duration applicable to your project are established by the manufacturer’s program terms and warranty documents.
Depending on the qualifying system and current terms, protection may include:
- Extended non-prorated protection for covered manufacturing defects
- Covered roofing materials and labor for manufacturing-defect claims
- Tear-off and disposal for qualifying covered claims
- Additional workmanship protection under the applicable CertainTeed program
Non-prorated means eligible covered costs are not reduced simply because of the roof’s age during that protection period. Covered costs and limits still follow the warranty terms.

Understand the limits
What Isn’t Automatically Covered?
A workmanship warranty is intended to cover qualifying workmanship issues. It is not insurance against every condition that could affect a roof or building after construction.
Depending on the circumstances and applicable documents, exclusions or limitations may apply to the following conditions.
Weather & outside events
Hurricanes, tornadoes, hail, extreme winds, flooding, lightning, falling objects, and other severe events.
Changes or damage by others
Third-party damage, other trades, owner modifications, or alterations and repairs performed by another contractor after RGR’s work.
Maintenance & aging
Improper maintenance, failure to address known maintenance issues, and normal wear and aging.
Conditions outside our work
Pre-existing conditions, hidden conditions outside the contracted scope, unrelated structural movement or settlement, and damage originating in components or areas RGR did not work on.
Product defects & specific exclusions
Manufacturer product defects may fall under the applicable manufacturer warranty. Conditions specifically excluded by your signed agreement or warranty documentation also require separate consideration.

Protecting Your Warranty
Contact RGR if you have a concern about work we completed. Where practical, let us know before substantial roofing changes, such as new penetrations, satellite equipment, solar installation, vent modifications, skylights, mechanical equipment, or other contractor work affecting the roof.
You can hire other contractors. Work by unrelated third parties can affect applicable warranty coverage when it alters or damages RGR-installed work. Reviewing proposed changes and keeping project records helps everyone understand what has changed.
Installation, evaluation & designation
FORTIFIED Roof™ Project Documentation
FORTIFIED projects have specific installation requirements, construction details, and photographic documentation requirements, with certified FORTIFIED Evaluator involvement and independent review.
RGR installs the qualifying roofing system. The certified FORTIFIED Evaluator documents and verifies the required criteria, then submits the project through the official process. IBHS reviews that documentation and issues the designation when the requirements are met.
RGR’s usual project records do not replace official evaluator documentation. A FORTIFIED designation is separate from RGR’s workmanship warranty and any manufacturer warranty.

How long is the workmanship warranty on my RGR project?
Qualifying work performed by RGR is backed by a 5-year workmanship warranty, subject to the terms, conditions, limitations, and exclusions in your signed agreement and applicable warranty documentation. Coverage relates to covered work RGR actually performed.
Is the manufacturer warranty the same as RGR’s workmanship warranty?
Workmanship coverage generally concerns qualifying installation issues caused by the contractor’s work. Manufacturer warranties generally concern covered product defects. Applicable roofing materials carry a limited lifetime manufacturer warranty, subject to manufacturer terms, eligibility, limitations, and exclusions. Some enhanced manufacturer programs also provide separate workmanship protection under their own terms. The provider, cause of the problem, and applicable documents determine which coverage may apply.
Will there be photos documenting my roof installation?
Yes. RGR maintains project-specific photos and field documentation during construction, including applicable installation stages and completed work. Geolocation and time/date information are included where captured through RGR’s project documentation systems. These records help explain the work performed; they do not automatically establish warranty coverage.
Is every problem with my roof covered by the workmanship warranty?
No. The apparent cause needs to be evaluated first. Storm damage, third-party alterations, maintenance issues, pre-existing conditions, product defects, or conditions outside RGR’s scope may involve different next steps. Your signed agreement and applicable warranty documents determine coverage.
What does CertainTeed SureStart PLUS 4-Star cover?
CertainTeed SureStart PLUS 4-Star is enhanced manufacturer-backed protection available for qualifying CertainTeed roofing systems. Depending on the applicable program terms, it can extend non-prorated manufacturing-defect protection and include covered materials, labor, tear-off, disposal, and additional workmanship protection. Eligibility and coverage must be confirmed for your project.
Will my new CertainTeed roof automatically have a 4-Star warranty?
No. Eligibility depends on the selected products, complete roofing system, installation, contractor credentials, registration, property type, and current CertainTeed requirements. Review the proposed warranty option and applicable documentation with RGR before choosing your roofing system.
What happens to my warranty if another contractor changes the roof?
Modifications or damage caused by another contractor may fall outside RGR’s workmanship coverage and can affect applicable warranty protection when they alter or damage RGR-installed work. Where practical, contact our team before substantial roofing changes so the details can be reviewed. You may hire other contractors; the effect of their work depends on the applicable terms and circumstances.
Does the workmanship warranty cover storm damage?
Storm and weather-related damage is generally different from a workmanship defect. A concern should be evaluated based on its cause, the work RGR performed, and the applicable warranty terms. A workmanship warranty is not insurance against every storm or property condition.
Our commitment does not end when the crew leaves. RGR backs qualifying work with a 5-year workmanship warranty, maintains detailed project documentation, and offers enhanced manufacturer warranty options on qualifying roofing systems.
